I managed to complete C25K just before most businesses were allowed to reopen back in early April (21).

Working in hospitality I was only too aware that additional work load involved in the mandatory table service was going to interfere with my usual running routine. But I did manage to carry on doing at least one 30min run a week until the 12 May at which point I decided it would be better just to accept I was unlikely to get out for a run again until at least July 19th when normal service was resumed.

Instead of it being the 19th I finally manage to get out again yesterday. As it was such a long break I decided to try W3 again; I’m sure I could manage longer but having pushed myself too much at one point last year and had to take a break to recover I decided to build up slowly again. The 90sec runs shot by as did the 3 min runs (a bit different to the first time around). A major difference to my early runs last time was that I included a few climbs which I didn’t dare run until about week 7 or 8 first time around.

Today I can feel that my muscles have done more work than of late. But it is a pleasant feeling that they’ve done something rather than aches from doing too much.

I plan to finish W3, 4 & 5. Then hopefully I can go straight to W6R3 rather than back to the dreaded breaks again.

Slow and steady is always better than occasionally fast, but mainly injured.

Take care.

Well done!!! Glad that you are back at it! I graduated in the same time as you and also plan to return as I had a nasty ankle injury in my 3rd consolidation run and after I recovered I went straight on holiday at the end of may(a 2 and a half month holiday) and will return home on tuesday and plan to startd again from zero. I am very excited to staet again as I want that feeling of achievement back again. Of course I put a lot of weight on after such a long holiday so really need this right now. Keep us posted! 😊😊😊
