I'm back (post baby!) - starting c25k again!

After completing c25k a few years ago and running for fun afterwards, I had 2019 off due to being pregnant with my first child and then a year off in 2020 due to me not getting 5 minutes to myself due to said child πŸ˜‚

Anyhow, my new years resolution is to make time for myself. That means getting back to running again, something that I ended up loving after about week 5. I may need reminding of that when I start up again!

I only ever did 2 runs a week so every week on c25k took me a week and a half to complete. I started suffering from anxiety in pregnancy and it never went away so I hope getting back to running will help with that too.

Hopefully my old friends are still lurking on here (Oldfloss ?) for some support, along with some new friends yet to be made.

As soon as the snow and ice has cleared I intend to get back out for week 1 run 1.

Wish me luck - again!

Welcome back to your Running family Miller2 I think I scurried in whilst you were doing the baby break thing πŸ™‚ I think it sounds like you've definitely missed your running for a little you space, let's get that anxiety down and get you back into your trainers πŸ‘πŸ™‚

My trainers have only been worn 5 times and I had to dust cobwebs off them last week πŸ˜‚

Sounds like preparations are well in place πŸ‘ good luck

Done, as requested.

We know you are a graduate, you know you are a graduate...........but you will have to earn it again the hard way.

Have fun......

Welcome back to the forum and well done

on both baby and decision to run again. This guide to the plan is still essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

You're still here too! Yay. Thanks! I'm gonna do the stretches the physio gave me last time after I ended up with a slight injury. Well, it wasn't, but my calf muscles grew too fast for my ligaments to stretch at the same pace (or something like that) so my ligaments were stretched too tight. Gonna look at this link, and also do some stretches before and after each run. Looking forward to it and dreading it in equal measure but mostly looking forward to an hour to myself with just me and a pavement to pound, and getting back to enjoying it (eventually). I miss the buzz.

I am not going anywhere......

Make sure pre run stretches are dynamic and post run static.

Do you want your badge removed?

in reply to IannodaTruffe

Tim regarding Miller2 wanted her badge removed? Is it possible

I am not sure if anyone who has graduated can have the word GRADUATE removed, as the saying goes "once a graduate, always a graduate", if a student gets a University Degree that can never be taken away, same with graduating from C25K πŸŽ“.

It can be done........

in reply to IannodaTruffe

I'll leave it in your capable hands not sure it's Moderator possible ( I may be wrong though)

You are back!!!! Wow!!! I am still here too....older and NO wiser at all!

This is absolutely fantastic and.... better still I am starting C25K...again! I had a blip in October and have had to start from scratch!

Your small one must be growing so fast.... I have a small runner in training... as you may know... our Granddaughter ... just 4 last October!

I am sure this is going to be really helpful for you, physically and mentally, ( it is helping me!), and I know you will get back on track, really soon... snow and ice here too..so I am on hold!

This is great... and it is so good to see you here xxx

Hi ya. I can relate to your post regarding needing a bit of time back for yourself! I started the programme near the end of October because I was struggling to get any fitness in around my two children.

Plus I needed some me time and going out running was the perfect answer!

I struggle with anxiety and depression and running really helps me with both. Hope it does the same for you! Happy running! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸ»

Hi, nice to meet you and good luck. πŸ‘I always have three words to say to mums starting running: pelvic floor exercises!😳

Believe me, you will thank me in years to come. πŸ˜‰

My pelvic floor is fab. I did three lots of NHS squeeze app pelvic floor exercises every day when pregnant (to avoid pissy knickers πŸ˜‚) and do 1 lot a day now. They defo work!
