Strangely it wasn’t an easy run this morning especially the first half… cold wind … need my running jacket next time… heavy legs in spite of being hydrated every day and a full warm up… time to stop thinking about my legs & look around me…a lady out training her reluctant pup, two beautiful little wagtails chasing each other…a few seagulls skimming the sea…glorious sky and the sounds of the tide rushing in .. that can’t be Jo telling me I have 5 mins left… suddenly the legs feel good & I can give it my all & the run is done ✅ Excited now as the challenge of Week 9 lies before me…..

Congratulations! Some runs are like that-you feel like you’re running through treacle and it takes an eternity to warm up. My runs last week were like that. The good news is…tough runs make you a better runner. You know you can keep going and it will get better. Even if it doesn’t on that particular run, you’ll know there’s a better run coming. Mine this morning was a delight after a few duds!
Has anyone told you about the toxic ten yet? Most runs feel much harder as you warm up. That’s always worth remembering. Don’t judge a run too early-it’s likely to improve!
You deserve an extra big cheer for finishing that run. Bring on the next one and hope it’s a good one!
