I received my running pack and number in the post this morning for my Middlesbrough Tees Pride 10k on the 31 August
It's getting 'real' now and I'm starting to get a little excited I will be competing in my first ever organised / official race; it'll be the first time I've ever ran with thousands of other runners at the same time; it'll be the first time I've ever ran where the roads are lined with cheering people.
I still can't believe I'll be competing in a 10k race/run. I only completed my c25k on 22nd June and in less than two weeks, and at age 53, I'll literally be lining up on the start line of a 10k race
Thanks c25k

Oh-oh Paul , squeaky bum time Only joking, I bet you are so excited , getting your number and race pack makes it all seem so real doesn't it ? Anyway , nice short steady runs leading up to it , you don't want to be crocked for your big day xxx
Thanks everyone Yes, loving the build up Only downside is a little knee niggle which is playing up today! I'll be getting the ice packs on and I don't think I'll be running at all for the rest of this week. Timing couldn't be worse!
Awesome mate. Just enjoy it... Nothing like it and you are ready for it... My first race wasn't that long ago and it was amazing! Soak it all up!
Getting So excited with you! Not that I am anywhere ready to run 10k! I have taken part in Race For Life for the past 3 years but never as a runner, always walk with my daughter. Too emotional, with all the back signs to read and our own memories.
Having read a couple of race reports on here it does seem quite an experience and yours is getting ever so close now.
Hope the knee settles quickly and doesn't hinder your progress
Have fun! Hope the knee sorts itself for you, you're right to keep off it for the rest of the week. Whenever I've had a niggle I've stopped running for that week and touch wood as yet I've not had anything serious develop (pays to listen to your body )
