Hello and welcome!
Please do not run tomorrow. The programme requires you to take a rest day after each run. This allows your body to heal following each run.
Not taking the rest days will almost certainly result in over use injury. That will mean you will be on the injury couch and unable to run.
Tomorrow you can compliment the programme with any non high impact sport, for example swimming, cycling, walking etc.
Don't forget to rest inbetween your runs.eg. Run one day rest the next. Good luck and welcome! 😀😀
Please - do not neglect to take the Rest Day. The programme works because it builds stamina. The 'speed' and 'distance' come later. If you run every day it does not give your body time to recover properly from the previous day. If there is only ONE 'unbreakable rule' here, it is to observe the breaks between runs.
And while less than 10% actually graduate 'on time/with distance' - the timetable is a framework and guideline, if you finish a Day to your satisfaction it is best to move on. Each increment is designed to build on the last - and that is what got some of us 'most unlikeliest of runners' past the post While most of us had to repeat some or several stages before crossing them off the list, it does not seem to be of any benefit to repeat a 'successful' day
Anyway - wishing you well in whatever way you decide you wish to go for it and also wishing you many happy miles in your future
Thank you. Have never run before so grateful for advise I will heed it and rest tomorrow
If you are already starting to enjoy the "challenge" of C25K On your rest days, but are impatient , do a different kind of "challenge" on your rest days - one that does not involve legs. Start doing some pushups or bar pullups for your upper body. I am 70YO , and injured at the moment and not running - so I am enjoying slowly building up my ability to do these again. I used to be able to do them when I was younger - whereas I could never run when I was younger There are easier "progressions" of these that you can start with before doing the full real deal.
If you read the beginner posts of Graduates you will see a lot of information and also have so much in common with us
We all started at the same place - that killer sixty seconds
Please never feel you cannot share concerns, insights, worries, success etc here or any questions you might have. This is honestly the most non-toxic site on the internet
Glad you are running with us
No..no you mustn't
Well done on today...but you will have gathered, you have to take a rest day in between
As Millsie-J says... loads of other exercise to do on rest days... Slow and steady does it
Welcome to the family! This is a great place for advice and support. I’m only in week 3 so I’m fairly new too. The other guys have already mentioned about making sure you take your rest day. Only other thing I would say to also make sure you stretch plenty, especially afterwards to help your body recovers
Good luck and enjoy the journey! Sx
Glad you are feeling motivated, keep it up and keep us updated with your progress... just finished week one myself and the support from the forum is fantastic... look forward to reading your updates 👍🏃👍
