Enjoying no intervals

Week 8 run 2 completed, I’ve really slowed my running pace down and I felt like I could have run for longer today 😊 I’m glad the intervals have gone and I can just get on with my runs, pre-run stretching helping too!

I agree, once you get past the initial shock of no breaks it's great to just run, however slowly, without the stopping and starting but we had to go through that to get here. Just shows how much more fitness and stamina we've gained in those first 7 weeks 💪🏃‍♀️😊

It totally does - you have to go through every step to get here but I’m amazed at how much I’ve achieved since I’ve started - great feeling - well done us ☺️

Well done on your massive progress. Don’t lose how much of an achievement it is to go from those short runs to a full 28 minutes. You’re so near the end now!

Interestingly, even though I couldn’t wait to bin the intervals, I really missed the variety in my runs after a while and I’ve now gone back to doing them again. Absolutely love-love-loving them now. Once you’re past graduation and consolidation, you might find the same. Don’t write them off forever!

Thank you, I used to enjoy the run/ walk intervals but after week 4 the runs became longer and intervals shorter - I preferred the beginning 😂🤣 but now I’m at week 8 I’m curious to see how far I will get after this programme, will I be able to complete 5k without stopping? 🤞🏻

I’m with you on the shorter interval being nicer! My most recent one was 45 seconds 6/10 effort, 75 seconds recovery, 15 seconds 10/10 effort, 45 seconds recovery. Up a hill. Fiendishly hard but so much fun! You’ve got lots of exciting things ahead.

The great thing about the c25k (and the really important consolidation period) is it gives you a great base to start from. You can slowly build and build and build until you get to a marathon. You can never run for longer than 30 minutes if you don’t want to. It’s all about finding what you enjoy most, and maybe mixing it up a bit so don’t get bored. There’s no rush to decide though, and things can change as life changes.

Enjoy those last few runs before you get your badge!
