I fear this post may sound smug - but please remember 3 months ago I was an inactive 47 year old who hadn't run anywhere for at least 27 years! And this morning I ENJOYED a fantastic run to celebrate the start of the Christmas holidays.
Drove out to a lovely setting, listened to the Archers omnibus from last weekend and completed a steady 30 minutes with no worries about speed or distance.
At the start of this process (at the very end of August - I graduated in Nov) I'd never have believed it! Choosing a run as a holiday activity?! π Actually looking forward to new route?ππ Enjoying it?πππ. I'd have laughed in your face.
Anyone who's struggling with their run today - keep going. It really is worth it! As Oldfloss would say - running for the joy.

Ha, no smugness detected Fitter40s, just one very happy runner doing their thing πxx
Happy times...
A friend of mine lives in Waterstock. It really is lovely round there. And thank you for the encouragement for those of us moving towards graduation πππΌββοΈππΏββοΈππΌββοΈππΌββοΈ
That's not smug at all, DebJogsOn I think we can all relate to that in one way or another, for me I think I'd been about 45 years since I'd done any meaningful running, and the huffing and puffing, beetroot faced C25K beginner was embarking on a voyage of change and discovery, as we all have ...
What a great way to start the holiday season though, I'm well jealous ....
Running on holiday is great. If I manage to get a day off during the week I also find myself planning runs! It's strange what this running bug does to you, isn't it?ππ
Brilliant post and it's great running for fun. I love this running lark too and like you can hardly believe it. Just don't know why I never tried it earlier in my life!
Not smug! I didnβt think Iβd ever enjoy it either - totally worth the effort of those first few weeks where it didnβt seem possible. Iβm still working the programme so itβs great to read posts from those who have completed and are still going. Keep enjoying ππ»
