That was an odd one. Decided to try the Stepping Stones Speed podcast, only 16 minutes running of intervals of 1 minute alternating 150bpm with 165bpm.
It felt energetic enough while I was doing it, but afterwards I felt like I hadn't done enough. I guess our Laura knows what she's doing, but? The other run from the series that I tried felt much tougher. I was only lightly sweating whereas normally I'm melting, but it was a lot cooler today.
One left to try, then I might alternate them a bit or try something else altogether. The running to a beat thing is good for me, form wise and picks up my pace, but I'm in two minds about today's run. I'm feeling very stressy at the moment, partly because I've just accepted an offer on what's been my home for 25 years and have no idea where I'm going! Off to view a house this evening...with all the stress maybe I should've done a longer run today.
Anyhoo. Whatever, I got out, I ran, and I did the run as Laura and her incessant 1,2,3,4 dictated, so I guess I've done something.
Happy running all...

Well done, I have not tried the stepping stones (don't know why not) but I guess if you have done it and it didn't feel too hard then surely that's a good thing ๐๐
I know what you mean, it does feel short once youโve completed it but thatโs a good sign! All your other running is contributing to you being stronger and faster! Iโve kept this one as my Monday run - to ease in to the week ahead and to push my pace.
Let us know how you get on with the final podcast!
Youโve got a lot going on for sure, so itโs great to go out in a run. It always helps me clear my head. ๐
Interesting what you say about the podcasts. I think trying them all is a brilliant idea. It means you are mixing up your runs, trying different things, which is what consolidation is all about. Well done! ๐๐๐๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐
I keep saying to myself I'm going to try the speed podcast, but my normal pace is nowhere near that so it scares me a bit tbh. Sounds like you nailed it though๐
You certainly have a lot going on right now - it's always good to get a run in to de-stress (or a swim for me now the local pool is open again)
It's not that fast! I am the slowest runner ever, and this truly wasn't hard. The faster interval is only the same as the last 5 minute section of the Stepping Stones podccast, and much easier as it's only 1 minute at a time.
Tried it this morning and I have to say I really enjoyed it I managed to stay on the beat (more or less) and got my fastest 1Km and mile out of it so all in all a nice run - if on the short side. I'll definitely try it again.
I enjoy the speed podcast. It make me feel like Usain Bolt, just for a few minutes anyway ๐. If Iโm feeling good Iโll turn round and do it all again on the way back, including the 5 min walk which gives me a bit of a break. If Iโm tired Iโll turn around and plod back at my own pace. Like you say, it doesnโt feel long enough otherwise. When Iโm back at work though it may be just enough! Hope the house hunting goes well x
