Week 6 Run 3: 2 weeks to go!

Just a quick report. Today was big Week 6 Run 3, of the Zombie,Run version of Couch to 5K. 🧟

I’m doing this the second time around after a metatarsal injury, so it feels I have more confidence than the first time around.

Very sunny today. ☀️ I experimented a bit with different gates both during walking and running phases, which had caught my interest. Also arm swings. I blame James Dunne for that. 💪

But otherwise today was:

5 min warmup walk

10 min freeform run

10 Squats

Repeat the following two time:

(30sec stretches + 10 Squats)

5 min walking

7 min freeform running

2 min stretching

7 min freeform run

2 min stretching

7 min freeform run

A few Zombies out and about, but this Runner 5 had no trouble leaving them behind!5️⃣🧟

Saved Runner 6 (again) and “got more intel on a disappearing cook.”👨‍🍳

But the biggest lesson for today was:

✪✪✪DON'T RUN INJURED! ✪✪✪🤕 (not me, Runner 6 was injured)

Now, where did my cook disappear to?

Have a delicious weekend!

Happy running everyone!

Love the updates on this. Have the 5k and 10 installed for trying after I do week 9. What do you do for the free form runs? Part of me thinks the first weeks walk/run intervals then another part of me thinks run like Jack Sparrow with arms waving about all over the place 🤪

Congrats on finishing week 6.

Btw, how are you getting on with the Nordic walking poles?

The first weeks of free form runs I took a walking break somewhere in the middle, but by now I just joggle away the whole duration.

But I am ultra slow, so it's easier to ‘run’ continually at my speed, which is not much faster than walking.

Thank you!

🤣🤣 “free-form run” and running like a arms-flailing Jack Sparrow. now that is an image I will now never be able to get out if my has again!

Yes? We could do a Monty Python-esque Ministry of silly runs!

Oh and Nordic Wslkjng: two down... More to go...

All exciting in the world of the zombie apocalypse. I think I’m going to try the ZombieRun app again to give me a bit of distraction on my runs. I missed having that today.

Your running location looks wonderful. Love a path through the woods, as I think everyone knows.

Yes, I think it’s pretty good! At the moment there is nothing else that merges storytelling and running in such an interactive way!

We’re pretty lucky with running routes from our doorstop. But it doesn’t stop me drooling when looking at pictures popping up on these forums! 🤤🤤🤤

The delight of returning to C25k is to explore the “same but different”! Yup! Loving it!

(I’m still the queen of slow, though 🤣🤣🐌)
