Week 5 Run 1: Choo Choooooo

I’m redoing Couch25k after Covid and Injury Couch, but I’m doing it the Zombie, Run version.

Very early today, was Week 5 Run 1, starting off second week of this programme, which only had a total of 8 weeks and not like NHS C25k 9 weeks.

Today:

* 5 min walking

* 5 min running

* Repeat 8 times (30sec walking, 1 min running, 6 heel lifts)

* 10min free form running

* 5 min stretching or walking

* 10 min free form running

Went all ok 👍🏽 and even saw a steam train chugging along the distance as I joggled down my trail!

Lovely morning to be out running.

Keep on keeping on everyone!

Lovely! Very well done, it certainly looks like a beautiful morning for a run 😃

It was! But somehow whilst stretching, so after having run safely and double jumped without injury, I trapped a nerve in my back whilst stretching on the bed! 😏 And it’s a bit “ouch”! Not sure I’m ready for the next James Dunne , today. We’ll see.

Ouch! I'd say best leave JD until tomorrow. I could really tell the difference between today (no run) and Monday (post long run) and that was without any trapped nerves! Feel better soon 🤗

Getting better! Thank you! It’s the fear of pain that is worse than the Iain. But am ready to pick it up tomorrow again.

Spotting unexpected things is one of the nicest things about being out for a run. I wish I’d heard about the zombie run thing when I was doing c25k. It sounds great!

Yes, it’s great when you do the C25k a second time around. I’ve gathered quite a few links to different versions of C25k, and I am strangely looking forward to experiencing them one time or another 😅.

Will do a post listing them at some point.

How lovely to see a steam train. A rare but wonderful sight. Sounds like another fantastic run while saving the world from zombies.

Yes, and we missed it on its return, at nighttime. But a colleague took a close-up picture of it at our small train station and it looks stunning!

But did you evade the zombies?? I can’t wait to get back out there

You will, I am sure.

Zombies are behaving themselves in week 5, bit its often in the latter part of each week where they get us runner-5-trainees to do real missions, with real zombies!!! 😱🧟‍♀️🤣🤣
