A little frustrated today. After having had to skip a run day yesterday because of snow, I was raring to go today but had to stop running and walk 5 minutes from the end of my run because the steps/hill I was on were too steep and muddy
That's a lesson to me not to get overconfident.
Anyway, I walked through the mud and up the hill, and then ran for a bit more than the remaining minutes to make up for the gap.
Is anyone else astonished by how much farther they get running rather than walking? I run insanely slowly but it's definitely faster than I walk. It makes me happy

I am sorry to hear about this but please do think about the positives. At least you were able to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors!
Yes, even running slowly does seem to make a noticeable difference to distance. when compared to walking. This is even though my pace also drops with the longer runs.
It just seems to be difficult to judge the length of the route to get back to the start at about the right time.
Thank you! Yes, it was lovely and I was running a bit faster than usual and feeling good. I guess I felt bad that I had to break the run.
Agree that I struggle to get back to the start at the right time! I quite often find myself a long way from where I ought to be, depending on where I decide to go when I'm running!
