W8 R1 What happened?? :(

Well, what a nightmare run today. I seemed to have lost my oomph a bit and don't know why?? so I wasn't really in the mood but eventually dragged myself into my gear, hoping it would inspire me. Also, I did my last run 4 days ago so maybe I left it just a day or so too long as today I just couldn't find my motivation! Anyhow I did the warm up and then got to 10 minutes of running (or snail jogging) and had to stop. I just couldn't get my legs going at all. I did a further 5 minutes brisk walk and tried again but stopped after 5 minutes. I have to say I feel all sorts of emotions.... angry because I gave up, frustrated because couldnt find my mojo and guilty for waiting 4 days but I just had to knock it on the head. We did have visitors the weekend and it was a heavy eating, and dare I say it, a heavy drinking weekend so maybe that didn't help? However, I will give it a go again tomorrow and see if I can muster up some enthusiasm and if not aim for at least 15 minutes to hopefully get back on it... Hope you all did better than me!!!

I did exactly the same.... lost my mojo a bit at week 8, and literally had to drag myself out, hated most of the runs, and thought that was it. Luckily got through to Week 9, then the will to graduate took over, so that got me through Week 9, and last night went out without the programme at all for my first post-grad run, and loved every minute of it.

Try and power through Week 8, and it will hopefully all come back to you like it did me...

Try not to worry, we all get runs like it, I struggled with all 3 runs for week 8 and felt really deflated but managed wk9 r1 (30 mins) this morning no problem , in fact I really enjoyed it and totally found my mojo again, cant wait for next run x keep going with the plan, you are doing great xx

As these others say, it happens to all of us. Try to see if there were any variables in operation that might have had a negative impact, so you can avoid in the future.

Four days off will not affect performance but could upset impetus.

Sometime rubbish runs just happen, sometimes they happen after a heavily indulgent weekend. Please don't fret about it, we've all had them - on the positive side you did a bit of a run, so it's better than not an inch - a km or so in the bank and a new experience.

A run is a run is a run and it's never wasted time...

Happy running next time out

Seems a lot of people struggled with week 8... I seemed to have mine a bit earlier in week 7!! Run 2 was awful and it really put me off and I put off run 3 for about 4 days.. was so worried of failure again as wind was out my sails after struggling so much already. I went out for run 3 today and although difficult, it wasn’t as bad as my last one! On to week 8!! You can do this, don’t overthink it

Sounds like week 8 is another obstacle like week 6? I too struggled on run 1 of week 8 tonight. Looks like there’s common ups and downs that catch most of us out !
