The physio gave me a new set of strengthening exercises yesterday, that shouldn't hurt my back. More importantly he gave me the OK to continue with C25K. In fact he said it was a brilliant way of getting back into running again. π
It's been raining all morning, still raining come my lunchbreak and a chilly 2 degrees. I put my kit on - to show commitment- and do my dynamic warm-up stretches anyway. Maybe it will ease up a bit?....
As I leave the house it's raining even heavier than before and as I enter the woods it starts to snow. Great big wet flakes. I must be a bit crazy, going out for a run in this weather! Unsurprisingly there is hardly anyone else about today - just a couple of hardy dog walkers, and no other runners.
I absolutely loved this run. I felt like Peppa Pig, splashing through the muddy puddles, a big grin on my face.
The first 90 second run was OK, but the following 3 minute run was harder than I expected and I was ready to walk again by the end. The next 90 second run was much better but the second three minute run felt a bit heavy and laboured though I could have continued on.
It's weird how second time round this is easier, yet harder than the first time.

I hate mud actually... I once slid halfway down a steep muddy hill in Tobago - flat on my back, arms and legs splayed after losing my footing whilst trying to get a better view of a bird
I was made to sit on plastic bags on the minibus afterwards
Thanks Ian.I know you don't much like getting wet - but bizarrely I get a bigger buzz if I run in adverse conditions. Must be developing masochistic tendenciesπ
Dont think too far ahead. Take each run as it comes. Each run prepares you forthe next one in the plan. Take it slowly and steady and you will be amazed at what you are capable of. I know I was
I'm looking forward to slowly building that stamina. It'll be great to look back in a few weeks. I bet it's a proud moment when you reach various milestones throughout, let alone when you complete the very last run!
I can only tolerate a certain amount of mud and that's on the brink for me lol π my latest pastime is puddle dodging. I know what you mean tho about it being easier, but also harder the second time round. I found I was more confident in some ways, knowing I'd completed it before, but the first few weeks especially felt much tougher than before. I couldn't put my finger on why π€·πΌββοΈ
Thanks Roxdog. Maybe I should've waited until today - it was cold but lovely and sunny here. Part of me really enjoyed the wet, mud, and snow though....
