Congratulations, it is a great achievement.

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow, as recommended in the guide to the plan.

Many people do not hold their stretches for long enough or put enough effort in. Hold post run stretches for 30 seconds and make sure the pull is strong enough to be on the verge of discomfort.

Thanks IannodaTruffe ~ I do most of these from my aerobics days, so I reckon it shouldn't be hard to memorise the lot, and time 30s.

First 5K is fantastic. First 10K will be great, but for me not as magical as that first 5K.

Yay!

Great to hear your news Iโ€™ve just started and it seems a steep hill at the moment. My Achilles are so sore at the moment. So perhaps there is hope yet if I can get through the next few days
