Run 3 week 5 done

This went well actually - so because I am certifiably scared of next week (6)I’ll try to do it again on Friday. Though maybe not when boys grammar school lets out onto my pathway - nothing like running by teenagers to get the legs and reflexes going. 🤪

Well done for getting this far, that run you did last is a lovely run. I know there are warnings about your next run, don't be afraid just plan. Know what is expected from the run first and visualise it before you set off and you will be just fine..... Not sure I would feel brave enough to run past any school, they would probably look at me running and send for an ambulance.... Enjoy your next run.

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran, perhaps wait until all the pupils are in the school before running again. 😊 🏃🏾

Well done completing week 5 run 3 But there really is no need to do it again !

Just keep all your runs slow and you will be fine .

A lot may struggle with week 6 run 1 because they take it too fast as they feel invincible after completing the 20 minute run on week 5

I agree well done and don't be afraid the times I thought I need to repeat but then didn't and then being amazed and really proud of myself for pushing on. You can do this

You are doing great.

W6, like W5, is just another week of progressive runs, but after the elation of W5R3 it is very easy to believe that you have conquered this running thing and attack W6R1 with over confidence.........stay nice and slow and you will be fine.

One twenty minute run does not a runner make.

This post about mental approach may help you to get it all into perspective healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

What is making you 'certifiably scared' of Week 6 ?

Hi there. I had to smile about the teenagers. Yes definitely time it right to stay out of their way! Most of them are probably fine and would be cheering you on, but they are definitely scary, particularly en masse! There are always warnings on the forum about Week 6, and I understand it does catch people out. Personally I found the start of the week easy peasy after Week 5 run3. I only have paces slow or slower anyway, so maybe that was why! Do t be scared- just go for it - onwards and upwards. Your confidence will just grow and grow now.

Yeah - most of them heads down in their phones so had to do some tricky manuvers to avoid several collisions. Was kind of like going up stream like a sweaty salmon. Lol oh well live and learn

Don’t repeat, just follow the programme. It works!!

Well done! Don’t repeat just because you’re scared of week 6, if you managed W5R3 without difficulty you’re ready - there are lots of warnings about it here because people can be overconfident but that doesn’t sound like a problem for you at all so just take it steady and you will be fine, you’re doing really well so far! It’s a mental shift to week 6, not a physical one - as long as you tell yourself hi can do it, you’ll be ok. Good luck!

Thanks for the confidence!

Ha ha ha yes I can imagine - I always have an odd urge to speed up when I go past people so I look like a runner 😂 good luck sounds like you’re doing fab, wk 6r1 was actually okay for me it was the r2 if that week I had to repeat, you may find it absolutely fine, I think cos I was dreading it it went wrong so just forget about it being a tricky week for some, keep your pace slow, you’ve got this!
