Hello Leledange, I am sorry that you are currently not able to run, but you will find as has been said many times on these running forums, that the runs will be waiting for you. I am sorry that you are feeling a bit low but it is at least good that you are able to walk. Perhaps you can hunt out some interesting routes ready for when your running can begin again. I hope that you can also find some engrossing 4 week project that helps the time speed along. I had a bad fall last August and was on crutches and wore a leg brace, but now I am running again; time does pass.
You'll lose very little condition in 2 weeks and after that loss is gradual, many people on here have restarted the programme several times after a break.
Listen to your surgeon who is best placed to advise when you can resume running. C25K will still be here when you are ready.
I was off running for 6 weeks with an ankle injury right when I was planning to start the program, about 3 weeks with calf strain in the middle of week 2, another 2 weeks off for calf strain around week 6 and finally took about 10 days off for a groin pull in week 9! Don’t worry about it, you will get there eventually. Allow yourself time to heal. If you are able to do other exercises (I was able to walk, hike, do low impact calisthenics, arm and ab exercises during many of my forced breaks from running) then do so. After each break I backed up a little and then kept going. It will be fine, there’s no hurry! I hope you have a quick recovery.
