Got to get back out there!?

Went for a short week holiday. All that R and R resulted in a stinking cold and bronchitis! Took my running things with me but felt so ill, couldn't breathe etc Mr (ironman) FR said have a break and go back out when you're better. It's been a week.. still coughing and chocking but feel I should get back out there before I lose momentum... do I take another few days and wait until I'm completely better or shall I just go out there and do my shuffling? (Graduated 10 days ago at a dizzy speed of 9 min per km πŸ˜‚)

If the residue of the cold is above the neck... you could try, if below.. then no... Better to try a brisk walk to see how you fare first. It takes a while before we lose our fitness:)

Ok. It's chest so I'll see about giving it a go and turning it into a no guilt brisk walk if I'm struggling to breathe. I'm just a bit paranoid about losing my still fragile new gained fitness. But if you say it takes a while to lose you're the oracle so I'll go with that ! Thank you.

Ha ha!!

No oracle..but chests can be pests! The runs will still be there and you will enjoy more if you are fit! Steady and slow, and walk if the coughing scares the birds!!!

Oh froggyrunner what a complete and utter pain. Go for a walk see how your breathing goes and up the walking pace and see what it's like then. You won't have lost your running legs so soon, but a walk can't hurt you at this stage. You'll be running soon enough I am sure.

Typical isn't it! I'll wait for it to cool down a bit and then go out. Thanks JCR

Been there, done that - wouldn't recommend trying to run until your chest has completely cleared! Go for a nice walk instead :)

Ok. I'd almost talked myself into the run. Walk it is then. Thank you.

Good plan. If the walk is fine, then try a short run next time to see what happens.

I would wait. You'll be fine fitness wise, but don't risk your chest getting worse.
