Second 5K

I ran my first last Sunday and my second today. Today's seemed much easier even though it was fairly windy.

I used the Nike Run Club app and did the "First Long Run" which is 35 minutes and the end of the run coincided with the 5k. A little faster than last week, but I'm not aiming for speed, just to be able to run 5k comfortably. Today was good!

Well done Chrimson51, your consolidation runs look like they are going really well 👍

Brilliant! Well done Chrimson51, you’ve done so well 👏🏻👏🏻 you might not be aiming for speed but that a decent pace you’ve done there. There’s a 6k on the NRC App, maybe one to consider for the future when you feel ready 🤔💪🏻🏃‍♀️

Brilliant Hidden , I’m starting consolidation tomorrow and will be using Nike run club, I’ve heard good things about it. 😎

great stuff Crimson51. I will have a go at NRC when I have done some consolidation, it seems to be better than Strava.

I used the short 20 minute run when I started my consolidation runs. Mainly because I knew I could do 20 minutes. 😀 x

oh I see, those are in NRC are they?? I better have a look then. I assume you have to download it onto your phone likeC25k????

in reply to

Yes, if you download the NRC app, all the runs are there. I like the coaches as they are with you a lot more than the C25K ones were. There's great information and I find the time passes much faster when I have someone in my ear ;) x

did you do the stepping stones, stamina and speed pods first, or go straight into NRC?? and do you have to subscribe and pay a sub, I think you do have to in Strava, but I dont want to go to that extreme. LOL

in reply to

I did a couple of the week 9 runs from C25K then Couchpheonix recommend the NRC app so I gave it a go and I am enjoying it. There's no subscription, I think there may be a premium app but I'm happy with the free one. X

Thank you very much for the info. When I come back from babysitting duties in a fortnights time I shall download that then 😃😃. Good luck in your running.
