Did running make you change your diet?

So being a vegi runner caught up with me recently, and my runs got really sluggish during the end of Jan and the first 2 weeks of Feb.

It turns out it was due to a lack of nutrients mostly iron, B12 and calcium. I since have adjusted my diet to include loads of greens and taking calcium suppliments and its making a difference... although I still feel like a rookie, cos I thought I had the diet thing right. πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜πŸ€£

I keep hearing running is a great way to listen to your body, but the list keeps growing....anyone had a simmilar experience?

As a life long veggie I can't say I have but, I do now take a calcium and vitamin D supplement plus some omega oils and eat salad and seeds every lunch time. Over 60 now and still going strong. Keep eating the greens.

As a veggie for 30 years my doctor told me my iron levels were pretty much non-existent. I thought I ate all the right stuff to compensate but apparently it wasn’t enough! I’ve been on iron supplements for 3 months and the difference is like night and day. So much more energy it’s brilliant! All the best with your food journey πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ.
