Day 1

Last night I started making the excuses not to go for my first ever run this morning... I don’t have the correct clothes (I’m good at coming up with excuses not to do things), instead I realised it didn’t matter what I wore, so with my Primani leggings, a baggy t-shirt & a hoodie on I did it 😝😝 I completed day 1, it wasn’t pretty but I did it, small achievement but I’m very proud of myself 🥰 hope everyone has a good day xx

Congratulations on completing run 1 of week 1 and welcome to the forum and C25K, take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, good luck for your running journey with C25K 😊 🏃🏾.

We all started from where you are, so we all understand.

Well done on the first run of the rest of your life. Stretch and hydrate if you want to keep aches minimal.

Hi! I've just joined here and saw your post! Well done! There are times I feel like just snuggling up on the sofa if it's raining, but I do end up heading out to complete the next run! In the snow this week! Like you , I felt such an achievement, every time! Have you thought about when your next run will be? XXX

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Hi, Wednesday morning, before work. I must admit I’m walking round feeling rather smug now xx

Well done Jo2103! I bet you feel brilliant now. That 1st run is always the hardest - have I got the right stuff, is my phone working etc etc!? But you did it anyway so you are right to be proud of yourself. 🏃‍♀️😀👍

You don't need fancy clothes. You only need appropriate clothes for the conditions and your level of activity.

The fancy Lycra can come later. 🤣

Just run in what you have and go out the door, nobody else thinking about your gear except you 😁

You should feel super proud of yourself, what a journey you have began 😁

Well done! From someone who also runs in Primani leggings and baggy tea shirts :D

Well done for getting out there, keep it going..

Let us know how you get on after every run 👍😊
