Hello, I’m 59, can’t run for a bus - so not sure what I’m doing here. But I do know that I need to get fitter and healthier as I approach the big 60.
I do get out for walks with my dog every day whatever the weather which is a start - I love the fresh air and hate gym’s - so I guess I decided to up my game and set myself a big challenge - what could possibly go wrong 😂
Congratulations on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1 and welcome to the forum, just take all the runs slowly and keep ridgidly to the program, if you need any advice or help regarding your runs we are all here to help you, however, if
you have any medical problems it's better for you to go and see your doctor.
It works, it really does. 8 weeks ago I would never believe I’d be running 28 mins. I’ll never forget my first run, it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, trust the plan, have fun
Hi Bluemoon & welcome. 😀 I hit 60 a couple of months ago and retired last Friday. This program is amazing, so get ready to enjoy many benefits and be really really proud of yourself. 😃
Thank you so much for your encouragement - I really appreciate it- I have never been a runner, but I’m feeling great about making a start - just need to stick to the plan now 😂
I have never been able to run for more than a few minutes even at school and always wanted to. And yesterday I did week 9 run 3! No-one could be more amazed than me. It took me longer (but I don't care) and I'm slow (but I'll speed up over time. I started when I turned 59 and aim to do parkrun for my 60th birthday.
You won't need luck - just follow the programme and take it slow
Wow Jinny - that’s amazing! I am feeling motivated at present - I hope I can keep it up when the going gets tough - I am taking on board all the comments about sticking to plan and taking it slow - It’s very encouraging to hear from inspirational people like yourself who have achieved this difficult challenge
