Week 1 Day 1 - Oooooofffttttttt!

I’m a newbie!

Just completed the very first run...and boy did I struggle! I never realised how hard it is to run (or should I say jog!) for 60 seconds - I am so unfit!

Not sure this is for me but I’m going to try run 2 on Wednesday.

I've just done my 1st run as well and it nearly killed me! Those 60 seconds seem to last a lifetime.

But well done for taking the first step and doing it. Here's to Wednesday!

And well done you!

Absolutely - I feel exactly the same. I don’t know why I expected the first one to be a bit easier? Or maybe I just thought I was slightly fitter than I actually am 😳

When are you doing your next one?

Wednesday too! I know I thought 60 seconds was nothing. How wrong was I!

Yay well done. Trust the program and it’ll work I’m sure. I’m an old big bird who had never run before April this year. I can now do 5k, which if I’m honest I still can’t quite believe. I’m no Mo Farah but I love it. It’s really helped my mind as well as making my knickers baggy!! Good luck 👍🏻

That’s amazing - I really hope I can say the same one day soon!

The first week was really hard for me but persevere and you will find the programme works. If you can't complete a run just give it a go another day. The 9 week programme took me 14 week!!

Great for getting started. It will feel tough but that feeling of achievement on completing a run is great. Please stick at it, the rewards physically and mentally are amazing. Running is for you as it is for everyone on here . Just go slow and slower again if needed. Keep posting and keep reading other posts on here . You can do this . Good luck 😊😊

Was exactly the same, went out super early so no one could see me 😂 I must have looked a mess. BUT it really does work and slowly build your strength. I’m now at week four and loving it. The running tips you pick up along the way on the podcast make a huge difference so hang on in there and super well done for getting started. 🏃🏽‍♀️😀

🙋🏻‍♀️ I was exactly the same, completed wk3 today never thought I could run for three mins, on to five next week and I’m really looking forward to it.

Never thought I’d be the person to say I love running x

Hi Jane - it’s amazing how long a minute can be isn’t it! But you will be able to do it if you follow the plan. Go to the pinned posts and read Iannoda Truffe’s post for newbies which will give all you need to know. Take it really slowly (🐌 slow), stay well hydrated on your rest days and let us know how you get on!

Well done! I felt like this was a platitude when I was first starting out - but that first run is the hardest of the plan. It’s true, at least so far for me. I’m on Week 6 Run 1 next and I still haven’t had a harder run that W1R1!

Keep going, the benefits are fantastic and you will amaze yourself each time you run.
