Finished week 3 run 3! ๐ todayโs run was a bit different, usually I run in the morning but because I had work early I had to do it when I got home instead. I was worried that I wouldnโt find the energy or the motivation to brave the cold and dark after my shift, but I actually spent the whole day looking forward to my run! ๐
I also changed up my route this week. Up to now Iโd been doing loops around the streets by my house. There were no main roads involved so the chances of people seeing me were slimmer which made me feel more comfortable. But I decided to challenge myself this week and went down one of the big long main roads instead. I figured itโd be nice to run down longer roads now that my run time is getting longer and I want to get comfortable with the idea of people seeing me so that I can confidently run wherever I want in future!
Just before I left I got really worried that I was going to freak out and that my self consciousness would ruin my run, but that wasnโt the case! When it came down to it I just focussed fully on the run. I didnโt care who saw me. And believe me, people would have seen me - I wore LED arm bands to make sure I was visible in the dark ๐๐๐(I run in all black so safety first and all that)!
Looking forward to starting week 4! Watch this space! ๐

That's brilliant ๐๐๐ really pleased you got out and didn't care who was watching ๐๐๐I'm uncomfortable with running in public so I do it in the dark. Hopefully I will get confidence like you have and just do it . Really pleased for you ๐
I should get some reflective stuff and maybe a light. Not having to cross too many roads will help you maintain a consistent pace. Also it's much safer.
Keep it up.
I should get some light stuff too I think. So far I still run in light, right after my work. But you never know... Either way, don't worry about how you look. You can't possibly look worse than me. I sometimes think someone is going to call the cops on me. 1 time I ran with the hood of my orange rainjacket up over my head, headband underneath that and a buff (shawl) over my nose and mouth. After the run I wanted to take a selfie, being proud of having run in the rain. I actually freaking scared myself! ๐
