Back in the saddle (kind of!)

Well, after back spasms threatened to derail me following a 25 minute run on Friday (R3 W6), I reached out and you guys did not disappoint; tons of really useful advice on how to avoid/recover from injuries, as well as (very much needed!) words of encouragement and positivity.

I’ve been resting, stretching and taking some pretty strong painkillers (!) and today I managed a comfortable 20 min walk/light jog. I decided not to put Laura on (my C25K mentor) as I wasn’t sure how far I would get and didn’t want to feel disappointed if I couldn’t complete a session. Instead, I cranked up my running playlist (Beyoncé features heavily!) and just let my mind wander. Before I knew it, 20 minutes had passed and I was feeling great.

Now for some rest and recovery before continuing my journey.....and well done to everyone who is still putting on their trainers and getting out there, despite feeling tired and achy, or maybe a bit sad.

We’re all smashing it 😊💪

That’s great news! I can hear how chuffed (and relieved) you are. So glad to hear the spasms were temporary.
