Route miscalculation!

A gorgeous morning so thought would take advantage and do a new route I couldn’t do in the dark. There’s a woodland park that we used a lot for walks in the spring (when you couldn’t drive anywhere to exercise) as could walk there from our house and it was just over an hour. So I thought would use stepping stones podcast and turn round when Laura said just over halfway through. But when it got to that I’d just gone past some dog walkers and so didn’t want to turn round ( ego I know🙈) and I was just near one of the gates into the woods. So first time running on grass/ mud. Loved seeing the frost and berries on the trees. Couldn’t do the last 5 mins faster pace on this surface but then when Laura said to do cool down walk realised I was still at least 15 mins from home. So I slowed it down and ran for another 5 mins before walking the rest of way home. Managed 5.2 k ( including 5min warm up walk) before walking so feeling good. Would definitely do it again on a weekend run😊
