Meh meh mehhh..CR3 another one bites the dust!!

After a morning of procrastination, looking out the window at the rain and checking the weather app I came on here to see how everyone was doing and of course, saw that runs were happening and people were getting out there (thanks Jericho). I really had no excuse ..though my head was full of them ๐Ÿ˜œ

Decided to get my kit on and then the rain stopped and the sun came out. Ok! Runtime was on.

Well, what can I say.. this run was not much fun at all and I struggled to get my pace and breath from the off. My left thigh was hurting a bit, my knee niggle was not happy ๐Ÿ˜ซ I had to take a slightly different route to avoid the crater-like puddles on part of my favourite route and that took me down some busy leaf strewn pavements where everyone seemed to have dogs, kids or scooters or all three and I had to keep dodging around obstacles all the while worrying about slipping on those damn wet leaves ๐Ÿ

Got into the park and got a steady pace going again but then had to take another detour to avoid muddy tracks and ended up down a dead end, turned back and realised I was now uphill. I staggered on to the canal path and calm resumed until I looked at my Garmin and thought it was showing Iโ€™d run 0.75 over my 5km target so I stopped relieved and surprised ๐Ÿ˜ณ Great! But on closer inspection, realised I was 0.75 still to go so I set off again to complete the 5km I was determined to clock but ohhh, after that, my head was really not in the game ๐Ÿ˜ซ < this particular emoji is a scarily accurate representation of what my face looked like for this last bit of my run. I then had to take ANOTHER detour to avoid a crowd coming towards me down a narrow path and I ended up running into an industrial estate with puddle craters, skips and parked lorries ahead .. not exactly in the scenic run guide book ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Finally scraped in with the 5km in 34mins. I had to laugh at the end, it really felt like such a catalogue of errors today and ending up in the industrial park really topped it off!

Walked the 10mins home as a cool down, pretty tired, felt a bit close to tears, post-run gremlins were out in force ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿ‘น not even โ€œLove Shackโ€ got me going (ah! What is wrong with me?!) wish it had gone better, perhaps I was a bit dehydrated? Or perhaps if Iโ€™d planned a better route instead of all the last minute changes? โ€œFail to prepare, prepare to failโ€!! Hope thatโ€™s my meh run done for a while ๐Ÿ˜  Took one for Team Gazelle today!!!!

That run may not have felt good, but you got out there and did it. Maybe you were going too fast at the start? That time is quite fast for a relatively new graduate and maybe it's comfortable for you, but slowing down a bit might help you?

Thanks. I think maybe I did go off a bit fast at the start and then really it felt like a run of "issues" I couldn't get my head in the game again. Also think running mid morning doesn't suit me as well, so back to early 7am runs for me!

That's still a pretty good time after all those issues though! You should still be pleased with that.

As you say another one done too! A day that could have easily turned into a lazy day has now had a 5k run ticked off ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

Sometimes I like a random route, they pass time and keep things interesting but if I'm aiming for a target i like a route I'm familiar with.

I think you have done well today ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป be pleased with yiurself.

Thanks ๐Ÿ˜€ You're right, a lazy day has been narrowly averted and I have another 5km in the bag. I am celebrating with tea and cake on the sofa and plotting some new routes ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸปThink I might also look into getting a guided run set up, your NRC sounds interesting. I will investigate!!

Well, you got out there, sounds an interesting route too ๐Ÿค” and still a pretty good time, faster than me ๐Ÿ˜‚ seems alot of us having these mehhhh runs, at the moment, maybe it's the weather! ๐ŸŒง

Anyway, on to the next one, tomorrow evening, after work for me, good luck for yours too. ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š It didnโ€™t feel like my finest hour but Iโ€™m glad I got out and did it today. Good luck for your run tomorrow, I think weโ€™re all due some good runs after a mixed week ๐ŸฆŒ ๐ŸฆŒ

Sounds like you were up against it all today, thereโ€™s nothing worse than thinking youโ€™re close to the end and then seeing youโ€™ve still got a fair way to go- thatโ€™s a killer. You did a really good time though despite it all- well done- you kept the gazelles trotting along nicely! ๐ŸฆŒ

Ah thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š I guess we need to have the meh runs to appreciate the gazelle runs! Glad I got out and made it to 5km - I was surprised my time wasnโ€™t a lot worse?? Onward to a new week of better runs for us all.

Lots of hard runs this weekend but a least you stayed dry!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ Well done on reaching 5k though ๐Ÿ’ช especially after all the obstacles and incidents en route!! I think we're due some easier runs next week ๐Ÿคž๐ŸฆŒ๐ŸฆŒ๐ŸฆŒ
