Hi guys ! Well , W4R2 nailed down today !! Nice and steady ,no huffing and puffing involved and not too many twinges either !! There were intermittent patches of ice on our route today but we were able to skirt around them with out losing momentum, and have to say we rather enjoyed the jogging experience during these current low temperatures. To think , three more sessions and then it's the big 20 minute run of W5R3 !! I can,t wait ,buzzing at the thought of it and all after only five weeks in to the course !!,I'm convinced that a lot of these "battles" are fought and won in our heads before we ever set foot out the door.Imagining our selves actually running in a controlled relaxed manner , our breathing regular and even ,at one with ourselves ,content - all we have to do then is to don our footwear of choice, get out there, and replicate these "visions" of ourselves , running for our lives, and actually enjoying it !!,
Another one bites the dust !!: Hi guys ! Well... - Couch to 5K
Another one bites the dust !!
Great to read!! Good luck on your 20mins!! You'll nail it !! 😎😎😎
Brilliant Fit4life ....the usual thoughts towards w3r3 are those of dread!! (Me included at the time) but not you... best attitude to have...grab the bull by the horns and ride it!!!! In the early days/weeks of the programme, imagining yourself back in the couch is more appealing...it takes strength and determination to carry on, especially in this cold weather...but the rewards are amazing x
Great run... and yes, a lot of it is mental... enjoy closing out the week.
Well done! I’m at the same point as yourself and I believe you’re doing much better than I am!
Starting to notice the pain of my shin splints at the 4 minute mark so I’m dreading next week.
Anyone got any recommendations for helping with these?
If you are doing it then there is no better or worse
For the shins, have a look at the faq post. I would say, walk a bit more, drink, shoes ok? And foot falling under the body not further forward. If you do all those things then might be worth a post on the forum for further help. Good luck
Well done! Planning to do r3 tomorrow and relieved that the 20’ is a few runs away, I thought it started week 5. Some relief!
Enjoy your evening!!
Excellent attitude! Visualisation is a great tool. I have started ‘seeing’ myself running on a route, feeling comfortable, breathing deeply. It really helps to make it happen 🙂
