Week Nine, Run One

Just managed the first of my thirty minute runs. It was ploddy and slow but I did it and it felt pretty ok. I saw magnificent fireworks along the way and thought they were for me at first, then remembered it's Bonfire Night weekend πŸŽ‡πŸŽ† haha. I'll try and increase my pace next time but for now, I'm just delighted to have managed non-stop running for 30 minutes. Hurrah πŸƒπŸ˜…

Thanks, though honestly when I first heard the bangs, it felt like running through a warzone. I'm surprised it didn't make me go faster πŸ˜…

There’s nothing wrong with plodding and slow if that’s what it takes to get the job done. And fireworks to light your way too! Not long till graduation now! πŸ˜ƒxx

Two more runs Jill then the real work starts - to maintain and constantly improve x

Are you going to do the Bridge to 10k plan? I did it just to see how I did after a few weeks of consolidation runs. I was nowhere near 10k but was running for an hour by the time I’d finished 😁xx

Yes I'm going to join it as soon as I've graduated so I don't fall off the waggon again. I want to improve my pace and distance. Running for an hour seems an impossibility at the moment. Did you do JuJu's magic plan which I've heard a lot about but haven't looked at yet?

Yes, I did the magic plan, it was great to have some structure and get to know others who were doing it. But it only runs periodically. It lasts 8 weeks and then starts again 2 or 3 weeks after one finishes. It’s worth waiting to be able to do it together with other people so you can all support each other. You should be doing 2 or 3 weeks of consolidation runs anyway to really get those 30 minute runs nice n solid n have a bit of a break, so you’re not constantly pushing your body to go further and faster.

If you pop into the Bridge to 10k community, you might be able to find out when the next one is starting xx

Really good thanks. Time seems to go faster outdoors - I think I'm preferring it now !!
