Witney Parkrun

I notice the amount of people running at Witney (not) parkrun is about the same as at a normal official Parkrun at Witney, there were 214 running at the last official Parkrun at Witney on the 14th March, the average for (not) parkrun at Witney is about the same, its a pity that isn't repeated throughout the country.

I think some parkrunners are being a bit naughty.

I read of one unofficial parkrun group that run together in the week (in normal times). They even posted on their facebook group about unofficial Saturday parkruns during lockdown, with timers.

The official Run Director was furious because she feared the bad publicity and the risk of being shut down.

We (just 2 of us) had thought of running the course on a weekday, but that put us off.

I have only ran 1 (not) parkrun on a official Parkrun course, that was a Friday so there was no breaking the rule as far as I was concerned, of the 20 (not) parkruns I have ran, 19 have been ran locally near to where I live, it would be interesting to know how many of those 214 runners at Witney run on a Saturday morning on the official Parkrun course.

We have run our home course twice, on Mondays and Delamere Forest on a Friday as (not) parkruns. We tend not to wear parkrun shirts when on an official course.

There were other runners out and about at Delamere, but it is a permanently waymarked running route.
