Hi Just wanted to share my excitement at doing my first official sub 40 parkrun today! I graduated in October and have been running once or twice a week since, barring time out with knee trouble over Christmas. It's my sixth parkrun, first was in January 2022. Today I came in at 37:51 woohoo! It's true, you really do get faster if you just keep going. I still walk-run, currently 1 1/2 mins walking and 5 mins running, repeat.

First sub 40 min parkrun
Excellent run for you j-runs and congratulations on running a sub 40 minute 5K at parkrun this morning, it won't be long until you run a sub 35 minute 5K, perhaps at parkrun or on your own. 😊 🏃🏾 ✅
Brilliant 👏🏻
Fantastic! Congratulations to you!! Have you seen there’s a weekly thread devoted to parkrun over on Bridge to 10k? This is the current one…

If you drop a reply over there too you’ll get lots of virtual cheers!
Hope you’ve done some serious celebrating!
Wow! That’s good to hear.. well done! 🏃🏻♀️😊
Well done!
Well done on your achievement!! I did a park run yesterday with my 12 year old granddaughter, her 1st. My 4th, last one in 2019. She was really concerned that we'd be last. I told her I'd be thrilled if we did it in within 45 mins. We enjoyed it, she was super encouraging and I think at times a tad proud. Our time was 44.33. Lovely memory making, and I hope the start of an adventure for the lovely granddaughter 👟💗. Hope to reduce the time within some months of training👍
