Today was my parkrun #10 😸

To celebrate, our run director invited Dame Kelly Holmes to join us! 😁😁😁

It's also my 2 month runniversary since graduating C25k!

Kelly was brilliant! Not only did she run a fast time but she stayed around after the run for selfies etc and always smiling ☺

I've not got my official time yet but I think I might have a new parkrun PB 😸

Good luck to those of you on the C25k programme. Enjoy it and then carry on running and smiling. You never know who might be running the same stretch as you!

Running with the professionals Katnap, I bet you didn’t think that would happen when you did your first run on c25k. Dame Kelly is a great ambassador for parkrun and sport. I hope you get your PB.

I think we had record attendance today. I went out far too fast so lots of PBs on first segments and then had to walk a bit with the stitch. Lesson learned. I think the results are slightly wrong too as it gave me a time of 32:55, but my watch was well over 33 mins.

Wow, that's fantastic! The fact that such high achievers not only promote & support parkrun but attend too is amazing and beautiful all together. Runners must be THE most friendly and supportive sports people in the world!

She was only 4th in age gradings, it’s a shame how people let themselves go like that 😂. Another parkrun with Dame Kelly on the sub-20 women hall of fame page now. I know she shows up at Tonbridge on occasion and stays to cheer every runner over the line.

Congrats on the 10th parkrun, if you were a teen they’d be sending you a shirt!

Love Dame Kelly! I went to see her parade through Tonbridge after her double Olympic gold. Her presence shone.

Hi ktsok. Thanks for your reply! Kelly did say her local is Tonbridge. As a tourist it was brilliant how she stayed around foe photos with all runners and for the volunteers after the tail walkers came through. And then we hear her talking with Graham Norton about an hour later at a live interview in Birmingham. 👏👏👏 Go Kelly go!
