Although it's now not necessary to run a (not) parkrun, since the official Parkruns resumed I have continued to run a not parkrun on a Wednesday morning, this morning I ran my 100th in a time of 32.28 on a course I have walked "hundreds of times" but never ran until this morning, the first kilometer is all downhill, the other 4k along what used to be called 'a towpath' by the side of The Forth and Clyde Canal, the sun was shining and the wind behind me, I enjoyed that run, I enjoyed it even better, guess what, when I got home, behind the door was a large packet containing my π₯ medal and orange T πshirt for running the London Vitality Virtual 10,000 just last Wednesday, it came sooner than expected, this Saturday I will wear it without the medal π₯ at parkrun.
100th (NOT) Parkrun : Although it's now not... - Couch to 5K
100th (NOT) Parkrun
Sounds like a lovely 5K run for you, Al; part of it a sunny downhill with the wind behind you! Congrats on your 100th (not) park run and wear your t-shirt with pride on Saturday ππππ
Amazing, congratulations on your 100th (not)park run!π And what a lovely surprise to get your medal and t-shirt early πππ
Thanks Beatlesforever, it was a lovely surprise to get my medal and T Shirt just 7 days after I ran the London Vitality Virtual 10,000. π ππΎ π₯ π
They wanted to make sure they reached you on your 100th not parkrun π
Well done AlMorr on your 100th (Not) Parkrun πͺAnd what a great suprise to come home to your V10000 goodies π¬π
Thanks Ian, I enjoyed my 100th and was very surprised that my medal and T Shirt arrived so soon after that 10K last Wednesday
Congratulations on your 100th (Not) Parkrun AlMoor, that's dedication there and a good time as well.
Thank you, it is a pity that I won't get a 100 T π shirt for running 100 (not) parkruns, I am not sure if I will get to 100 official Parkruns, but it won't be long before I get 50 official Parkruns ran, this Saturday will be my 44th official Parkrun, by the way (not) parkruns began on Saturday 20th June 2020
I was at one in Welling in Kent a couple of weeks ago and there were a few with 250 on their T shirts. My next one will be 20 and not sure when that will be as I am trying to put in longer runs these days. I see that a few have incorporated the parkrun into their longer runs. I find it hard to do that as I go all out on the parkruns, which is probably why I like the longer runs better.
Most of my (not) parkruns have been longer runs as well, last week I ran The London Vitality Virtual 10,000, like a lot of my mid week runs I posted my 5K split time as my not parkrun to my home parkrun website, as this morning was my 100th (not) parkrun I thought it would be a good idea to just run 5K.
Impressive. Congratulations on your 100th (not)Parkrun.
Oh My!!!Haven't you come a long, long way since that very first run?
What a glorious run today sounds to have been too...
I can image the water sparkling with sunlight as you ran ...
A bonus treat at home too...and a new t-shirt for Saturday!
Huge congratulations my dear friend xx
I have come a long way Floss since my first official Parkrun in July 2019 when you emailed me just before I left my house to run, you were the very first person I told privately on how I ran regarding my time. This morning I ran a (NOT) parkrun, number 100, yes the sun was shining and sparkling on the water, it was really nice to find my second medal and T Shirt in the post for running the London Vitality Virtual 10,000 just last Wednesday when I got home. π ππΎ π₯πβ
Well done! Now, onwards and upwards to the real thing of a π― milestone but first the 50 milestone...
Thanks, the real number π― milestone might be later in 2024, I don't go to a parkrun every week, I notice looking back since January this year, two weeks at parkrun, one week off usually running a 3K on the off Saturday, my midweek run every Wednesday I count as a (not) parkrun
Well done on your 100 not parkrun. Good time again. And a lovely surprise when you got back home, I do not parkruns as well, on my 81 but keep forgetting to put mine in. , and I suppose mines are mostly walking now but still u can compete as a walk. You will. Be getting g a collection of π ππ
Thanks Doris8, most people don't bother too much about (not) parkruns since the official Parkruns resumed but I like to post my midweek run, whether it's a longer than 5K or just a 5K as a (not) parkrun, any run longer than 5K I use the 5K split as my not parkrun time
Well done to you on completing 81 (not) parkruns, I only have 2 π₯ medals but I have now got four running T Shirts, a parkrun, a 25 T Shirt and now two London Vitality Virtual 10,000 T Shirts, π in a few weeks time I will be running my 50th official Parkrun and probably buy a 50 T Shirt, that will be my 5th running T Shirt.
I think you should but yourself a nice black tshirt just as a nod to your 100th. Unofficial tshirt for your unofficial parkruns. Well done
Good idea to buy a black unofficial π― T Shirt π, before I got those 4 running T Shirts I was a little short of any T Shirts, but I now have more T Shirts T π than I need. π
Ooh, congratulations. Thatβs a fantastic milestone. Combined with the recognition of another one. A running day to celebrate π
It went very well Vespina, apart from a official Parkrun, this mornings 100th not parkrun 5K was the fastest time this year. π ππΎ
100th not-parkrun? Super congratulations. Thatβs a metric to be truly proud of. Whatβs your next milestone/target, Al?
Thanks GX, perhaps next Wednesday I will try to run 10 miles, it will be my first for a while but if my legs get sore I will stop immediately or at least at the nearest K, last week when I ran that 10,000 I felt could have ran longer, so I 'll see how thing go next Wednesday.
Congratulations on your 100th Al, and so exciting the teeshirt and medal came so quickly
Oh wow! Awesome!! Huge congratulations! Happy π― 100th (NOT) Parkrun!
And you got your medals, as well!!!
Happy π―!!!
Congratulations Al. That's a super achievement. We have a canal close by and it's a great place to run. πππ
I have walked and cycled along that towpath many times, the last 1K being uphill after I leave the canal but yesterday I ran in the opposite direction so that the first kilometre was the downhill part before I got to the canal. many years ago before I started running I got on my bike, got to the canal which is 5K from where I live and could cycle as far as Edinburgh going east and loch Lomond going west if I wished to, all off-road, I read somewhere that Glasgow and Bristol are the cities in the UK where most cycle routes are all off-road, great places for walks, bike rides and running.
Congratulations on your 100th (not) parkrun πππ₯³ and enjoy showing off your t shirt and medal!
What a great run - the towpath sounds wonderful. But yes! How exciting to get home and rip open your vitality goodies! Weβre never too old to get excited by rustling things that come in the post. Well done! π
Well done on the 100th (not)Parkrun Al! Enjoy your run in your new Vitality T-shirt on Saturday!
Congratulations on your 100th not parkrun ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»I ran my 10k the day after you so I wonder if my T-shirt and medal will come tomorrow?
Wear it with pride on Saturday π
Many congratulations- what a record you have built up. Hope new T shirt suits and you can wear with pride ππ
One hundred (not) parkruns I am very happy about that, I wore my new bright orange London Vitality Virtual 10,000 T Shirt π this morning at parkrun, one of the volunteers thought when they saw the London landmarks on the T Shirt and the word London thought that I had ran the London Marathon but of course I told him it was 10K not 26 miles.
