Early start! Beat the sun this morning but the moon looked good π
First 5 to 10 mins I struggled a bit, couldn't get into a ryhthem or switch off my brain. Took a different route though and made some on the fly decisions with which roads to take etc which kept things interesting, think I saw one other living soul so gave him a cheery "good morning" at about the 15 minute mark... I think I pulled off looking like a real runner and not and out of breath lunatic as forced a smile and the greeting π€£ ran past few houses from my history, they brought some real smiles as I remembered some good times and amazing people sadly no longer with us. Suddenly there's 5 minutes left and I've made it to the allotments where I started this running thing 6 weeks back! Once around there to finish and I was done π the knee pain started kicking in at about 22 minutes and just niggled me for my last few hundred metres but this marked the futhest I think I'd ever ran in my like. I put the strava on today so there's some data to look at, no idea of how much faster I'd need to go to complete 5k in 30 mins but I'm sure there's some people on here who will know all those details. I'm very happy with what I've acheived so far π weekend off now, bring on Monday morning!
Good luck to all running today ππ»

Congratulations Jericho2332, you are now officially a runner by completing run 3 of week 6, regarding a 30 minute 5K, at the pace you ran this morning you would complete 5K in around the 33 minutes, onwards and upwards to week 7.
Nice work! I'd really suggest not focusing on changing your pace for the 5k, but if it happens, awesome! I found having the 5k to work towards after graduation gave me a really good goal to keep me going, so it's like an extra prize after graduation when you get there.
Don't ignore any pains. You're still in early stages of training, with just over a month of running under your feet. Your body is still adapting to this new thing.
Well done Jericho2332, I love a good mornin' as I'm running - its the small things that make us smile sometimes. You're covering some distance now at a good pace too (well better than me anyway!).
Well done on your run!!!! i just posted mine above but I think I was out just after you this morning in that biblical weather! Absolutely mad but not so bad once you're moving I found.. You could've probably seen me from Mars today in my fluorescent yellow jacket
I took a new route too and it really helped. A bit like you I was distracted and the minutes ticked by nicely... My breathing was fine, pace not too mad.. When Jo said I had 60 seconds to go and it would be "fun" to try a spring, I did laugh! Think I managed a slightly faster jog at that point but gave it a go.
Well, we've done Week 6! Week 7 on the horizon. See you Monday for a check in
