What a lovely sunrise this morning and it was cool without being too cold which I definitely appreciated. The midges though...bane of my bloody life! I dread to think how many of the blasted things I've ingested over these 9 weeks; they better not have interfered with the calorie counter haha!
The run itself went fine. The half hour definitely seems a long period of time and though I settled quickly, I couldn't keep my mind off wondering how much longer was left in the final 8 minutes or so. Really excited for the final run and just want to wish everybody in weeks 8 and 9 the best of luck in their final push towards graduation. I also want to cheer everyone else on no matter what stage in the process as it can be done even when you might despair or hit a bump in the road. Enjoy your days π

Those bleddy midges, not the most popular running snack.. π₯΄ So off putting!! I had a massive fly/small pterodactyl hit me full in the eye once. Actually hurt and I was running along with my hand over my eye for a while π΄ββ οΈ The things we do..! π
Excited to see you cross the finish line! Enjoy that final run. Keep your head up high and breathe in your achievements with each step ππΌπππΌππ
Well done you β¨ Midges π¦first thing in the morning is a pleasure I definitely would like to pass on ππ we tend not to get too many but the west coast takes the hit for us .
For the first time , I have been βrained offβ .
I donβt mind a bit of a soaking but itβs been raining constantly here since yesterday . I would have been fully drenched on my warm up walk βοΈβοΈπ
I think when i reach the end of week 9 (hopefully) I am going to go back and read all my posts . Remind myself of those highs, lows and bumps in the road .
Just going to correct one of your statements: when you reach the end lol; there no hopefully about it! What a lovely idea reading past posts to see how far you've come. That's bound to give you a warm fuzzy feeling π
It's so annoying that the weather has decided to put a spanner in the works on your final week but I think you did right. It definitely wouldn't have been comfortable and it can get so slippy. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it brightens up soon π€
Those annoying midges! Not a problem Iβve had since starting out in June. Because Iβm semi-retired I can choose my time of day. My usual routine is to get up around 7:30, have a modest breakfast (usually toast made from homemade breadπ) around 8. Read the news apps etc. Go out for my run around 9. Never noticed any insects so far, but that could change as the mornings get darker. I donβt fancy running on an empty stomach or when Iβm only half awake.
It's so funny you should say that because I've NEVER been a morning person at all but because before work is the only time I can find to go running, it has forced me to change my routine. It's actually helped me feel more energetic in the day and even on days I'm not exactly bright eyed and bushy-tailed, it has dragged me out of the early morning fog. I'm with you on not being able to run on an empty stomach. I tried it once or twice and I felt very light-headed so never did it again
Haha π, see, I'm in the lancastrian lows and they're still about. There is a small river very nearby though which connects to Morecambe Bay so I think the salt water attracts them somehow. Of course, that could be a load of rubbish as well lol but it's my theory. Glad you don't have to put up with them
Ah thanks CazzaW! It won't be much longer till we're all reading yours as well π. Yeah the midges were there through summer but only every now and then. I have no idea what was so special about today though. Fingers crossed they're not a problem on Saturday
