Oh what a beautiful morning...

My achievement this morning will probably not seem like an achievement by anyone else's standards, but I'm sure there are people out there like me who struggle to run for 30 mins. I haven't run for 30 mins non stop for quite a few weeks now (I graduated at the end of August) but I have read lots of posts on here that say if you slow it down you can run for longer. Now, I'm not fast - my usual pace is 8:35 per km- but today I slowed it right down to 9:06 per km and I managed to run for 31 mins comfortably; my breathing was steady, my legs were aching nicely (if you know what I mean!) and I ran naked - nothing to distract me! It was glorious! The sun was shining and I also changed my route a little. All in all, these minor changes made me feel that I can continue running and one day, I will be able to run a 5K non stop. I'm getting there ... slow and steady.

Running non stop is extremely difficult and a big ask. It’s not the holy grail though. Taking walking breaks is sensible and can mean the difference between finishing a session and not, so don’t worry. I walk when I need to πŸ™‚πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘

Thank you. Yes, I have been taking walking breaks but I just wanted to know that I could still run 30 mins non stop, and do you know what...I enjoyed it!πŸ˜€

Well done you ... slow, slow, slow is the way forward!, having said that you really aren't that slow.

You'll soon be running 5k. Running at a pace that's comfortable for you is the most important thing.

Keep up the good work. Good luck and happy running!

Kimterry just love your shiny medals - I love to work towards a goal - you are doing fab - it's hard getting back into 30 min runs I graduated in Sept but dropped down to 20 mins in the winter (on a good day) and I found the 30 so difficult a couple of weeks ago .πŸ˜€
