Waiting to run, Day 2.

This is driving me nuts. NUTS, I tell you!

Yesterday was run day, and conditions were perfect for me, calm, warm and sunny. I had my kit on, really keen to go. There was just a small matter of a call from the asthma nurse to get out of the way first. So, I waited. In my diary I'd written 10-6. So I didn't dare go before the call, but she's usually early so I was quite hopeful. I waited, waited, waited. As the day wore on, my desire to run got weaker, even though by 5.45 pm there was still no call and I'd come to the conclusion there wasn't going to be one. Having given up on both running and the expectation of my call, I was just about to step into the shower when...at exactly 5.50 the nurse called. So. What I'd meant, when I wrote the appointment in my diary 3 weeks ago, was not 10 until 6, but 10 to 6.

Okay, I thought, well, I can run tomorrow...which is now today as is the way of things. The only thing booked in for today is a Tesco delivery, vital as I'm still pretty much shielding. But as Tesco always text me by 8am with a time, I wasn't worried knowing that I could just work around that.

Guess what? No text. So I called the helpline only to be told they are so crazily busy they can't give delivery times today.

So, here I am, waiting again. I know if it gets to 4pm I'll have lost my mojo and the weather is set to worsen. I don't mind rain as long as it isn't cold and windy, but wet, cold and windy it is with more due later in the day.

NUTS, I say. If today is another write off I shall be venturing out into the predicted storms tomorrow, sobbing into my inhaler.

Happy running all. πŸ™ƒ

5am is a magical time to run 🀣πŸ’ͺ🏻 and safe in the knowledge that you wont miss a call or a delivery if you run between 5 and 7 am, it's what I do anyway and then the rest of the day is your own. Plus you get to see some pretty amazing sunrises!

I also can't motivate myself to run on a night after a long day so early starts are a must for me.

I liked 5am in the summer, but now it's too cold. The early morning cold brings out the worst in my astmha, plus I live in an isolated spot and pitch darkness feels a bit scary.

But the good news is that I've finally got my Tesco text, delivery between 3 and 4. So, as soon as my phone finishes charging I'm off! Kit on, ready to go.
