Week 6 Day 2......anti-climax!

Well there I was all set up with my new running leggings and wet weather top, pink hat that can be seen from space and my arm & shoe lights. Off I set into the dark night and rain......right I thought, 1st born told me there's 3 x 10 min runs, pace yourself woman. 5 minute walk & first 10 min run passed in the blink of an eye, the 3 min walk was welcome but it too passed quickly and I was ready when Michael told me to run....off I set, not too fast as I was still pacing for the 3rd 10 minute run (yes I know now that there was no 3rd 10 minute run! - grey cell malfunction) All too soon Michael's dulcet tones kicked in...."you've done all your running for today"....What???? Noooooo, I want to run for another 10 minutes! (well, there's a turn up for the books, never thought I'd hear myself saying that! ) But being mindful of the program, I forced myself to slow down & do the 5 minute cool down walk as I didn't want to go off the program. I must say that I felt very disappointed that I had paced myself for a 3rd run which wasn't because I could have gone a little bit faster on the 2 runs...... Wait! what did I say? Disappointed? me? whoo hang on a cotton picking moment......I wouldn't have said that 6 weeks ago :D :D Oh well, that will teach me to listen properly to what is being said, 1st born actually told me there were 2 x 10 minute runs with 3 minute walks ......I must have misheard or was it my subconscious wanting to hear that there was a 3rd run? Whatever, the 30 minute session passed very quickly and I am pleased to say that I am finding each new session getting a bit easier each time. Oh yes, and OH joined me today - he was walking whilst I was running :)

He he. The brain is a funny thing. Had you known that there were 'only' 2 10min running intervals, it is quite likely that you would have found the second one more difficult.

Ha well done...I'm usually the other way round. last night I thought I'd missed a cue to run so decided to go..then after about a minute she pipes up,3-2-1 go... so i dithered then decided to keep going so I reckon i did 2 and a half mins instead of 1 and a half...but i managed then managed the next 3 minute bit ok so all was well!

Fantastic - you're making brilliant progress! And disappointed that you were only running for 20 mins instead of 30! 😊😊😊

It's posts like this that keep me going. I'm only on week 2 but already visualising myself doing longer and longer runs. Also, I want a hat that can be seen from space :-)

Well done! You look very toasty. Fancy wanting to run for half the time again!! Shows how far you've come. Your C25k programme must be slightly different to Laura's but they all get to the same place! You're doing great, keep it up!
