OK ok I missed a rest day! But I couldn't sleep and all I wanted to do was run (how weird is that?! 🤣) plus due to scheduling issues I couldn't run tomorrow soooo I got up and did it today, I felt strong it was thought but not to the stage where I considered giving up. Changed my route up, had 90s dance classics on the headphones (this really helped!) and went for it and completed it pretty easily, bit of a puff and pant at the end but soon got over that 😁 bring on Friday!
Good luck to all running today!

I'm sure someone will be along soon to slap your wrist for the missing rest day haha but I know what you mean about just wanting to go for a run and fitting it into your week. I've found that I really miss my runs on rest days and that is a sentence I never thought I'd see myself writing! Gorgeous photo too by the way and sounds like a good music choice 🙂
I don't look ahead so I don't know 100% but I think so? Week 6 run 3 Friday to look forward to which I think is a full run? Deffo having my rest day tomorrow don't want to push my luck with injuries.
When you run, the impact creates microtears in your muscles, which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not while running. Without rest, repair and strengthening are compromised and injury risk increased.
If you want to be the best runner that you can be, then do non impact cross training on your rest days, which will be far more beneficial than running every day. It is not recommended for new runners to run on consecutive days until they have a minimum of six months regular running on their legs.
Why risk injury that could stop you in your tracks for days weeks or even months?
Well done on your run 👍🏻 I was out this morning at 6.45am for the same run! I was wondering how it would go again with intervals but each run slightly longer than Wk6 Run 2.. I changed my tunes up this morning to some 90's dance tunes (must be something in the air) and got to it... Well, I did it but have to say, those last 5mins were not pretty 😩
I would usually say 'bring on Run3' which I'm planning to do Fri morning but I accidentally clocked what it is and am now quaking a bit but sure will be fine!!! I am really much better if I don't know in advance and just go with it on the day so will NOT be checking the plan for spoilers going forward lol
Yeah I find not looking forward works best, less to worry about 🤣 I'm looking forward to Friday, one step closer to being a proper runner! 😂 I think il even turn on Strava Friday morning? Get an idea of pace and distance 🤔 I've not found it necessary yet as I know I'm slow and don't really want to pressure myself with comparing numbers with others 🤣
Well done with the run! Let's smash Friday morning! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
I’ve actually started running with my old Garmin watch this week to see what my pace is. It’s been a good thing as it keeps me at a consistent pace and I do pick it up a bit when I can see the I’m lagging tho not sure if that’s a good thing if I then end up a bit more puffed! It’s also been interesting to see the distance I’m now covering (3km today) for the running bit as I do want to keep an eye on that to ensure I’m heading in right direction for 5km. However, I do NOT want to get bogged down in stats so will have to discipline myself!! See you Friday to compare notes 👍🏻
