I did it!

I actually did it, me, 48 year old who's not run since school!

Right calf a bit pully, if you know what I mean... but I'll massage when I get home... I did have a long day yesterday, on my feet most of the day.. plus, I'll admit, not a very good warm up.. didn't really do it properly... so only myself to blame. Rest day tomorrow... no gym, but I do have work...

Anyway, thrilled that week 1 is done and dusted!

Have Great day all!!

Well done.

The warm ups are an essential part of avoiding injury, especially as the weather gets cooler.

If your calf's a bit tight, you probably need some after run stretches.

You're on a treadmill at the gym? In that case the weather isn't much of a factor. It will be when you brave the big outside world.

I can recommend stretches numbers 3, 4 and 5 here for calf tightness:

foot-pain-explored.com/calf...

Do them on your rest day or after a run, never just before a run.

A good set of stretches for just after a run is the one from the C25K pages:

nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h...

IannodaTruffe recommends doing 30 seconds rather than the 15 seconds given there. I agree with him.
