After a break of quite a few weeks ..................
(I graduated in Christmas eve and have managed one run since)
I just proved to myself that I can still run for 30 mins with NO walking!! Not that remarkable you might think ?? But I know for a fact that a lot of my running 'demons' are/have been in my head. I was scared that after a few weeks of not running at all that I would 'let myself' walk ...........and ........I did not!! I'm not saying it was easy, in fact it was hard! 5 mins into the running , that 'demon'on my shoulder was telling me that I wouldn't be able to complete 30 mins without a walk. So i'm sitting here feeling all pleased with myself , and I'm going to try not to let myself take long breaks from now on. After all, I have signed up for a 10k in May and I really want to be prepared for it and enjoy the day ............oooooops Sorry , I've gone on a bit , I'll stop now

Well done kazzers - I know exactly what you mean! Those little demons can really get to you and I must admit, sometimes they win! But you didn't give in to them and kept going and you deserve to feel pleased with yourself.
I have certainly had lots of problems with them over the years dottiemay But then i'd discovered this forum, I have not looked back .......... I think that they'll always be around but I'll learn to ignore them , good luck with ignoring yours too
No need to stop, you have a lot to go on about!!! You have every reason to be pleased with yourself!! Gayle and I had a terrible time working in runs throughout December. I completely understand how it can happen and more importantly, how great it is when you return and still have something that almost resembles what you were doing when you hit the lay off!!
That first run back was a tough one. No air, achy muscles and a tremendous mental battle, but we did it and so did you!! Welcome back!!
It helped us tremendously to start the B210K program. Now, we have a schedule to answer to again!!
Wonderful! See what happens when you make an "appointment with yourself". I'm sure you'll go from strength to strength now - very best of luck with the 10K training
