Zig Zagging up hills really works!

Haven’t been for a run for a few weeks. Went out for the third post consolidation run tonight, didn’t do too badly considering I haven’t been out for a bit. And running in a zig zag up the hills really does work!! Managed 2.5 miles in 26 minutes, with two stops to walk. I do love running when I get out there, I’m so grateful for finding this forum and embracing c25k, running really does help your mood. 😊🏃‍♀️💪🏻👌🏻

There's a good tip!! I wish I felt as fit after missing a few runs but you're right about feeling better after. What spurred you on today?? Motivation is key! 🏃🚶🏃

It’s great, someone mentioned it on here and whilst out there this evening I remembered, do the zig zag. I’ve been meaning to get out sooner but just haven’t been able to due to childcare and hubby working away, it’s just fitting it in at the moment. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️💪🏻

I know what you mean. Tbh I try to avoid hills but really should fit a hill session in as they are good stamina builders. 🥴

Ha same here, I try to think of routes without hills! But they’re everywhere here 😂🙈

You're back..yay! 😊👍

Glad you managed to get back out. It really does lift your mood doesn't it? I think starting the c2k5 is one of my better decisions lol!

.....and I am definitely giving that zig zagging a go in the morning...great tip 😁🏃‍♂️👍

I keep dipping in and out! I can’t get enough running days going at the moment due to work.

It sure does help the mood, it really lifted me this evening! It was so nice to run as the sun was setting too.

How’s your running going, have you been out much?

It really does work!!! 🤗

Ah I know what you mean, it's hard to juggle with work and kids etc. I try and get out a couple of times a week if I can at the moment but at least once for my sanity lol!

I think just getting out and doing what you can when you can is good though 😁

Ha it helps keep you sane for sure

Are you managing to run any further or improve your time etc?

Tbh I'm just making sure I run for 30 mins a couple of times a week at the moment until I get used to everything again. I was getting abit to fixated on splits and distance etc so just wanted to get back to the headspace runs for now 😁

Sounds good. Amazing you’re getting out a few times a week. Yeh I think once we graduate we want the next thing, so we push ourselves even more but it probably is the best idea to focus improving on those 30 minutes 💪🏻🏃‍♀️

Totally agree. It's that old wanting to run before you can walk thing lol!

I'm happy for now just being able to run and feel like I'm doing something to look after myself 😊
