Seeing as I was running at a slower pace tonight due to running with a friend she suggested we do a route with a few more hills than I usually do so that I could do some hill sprints and then jog back to her.
What a workout that was and I feel like I used to before graduation when I did the first run of a week and made it to the end
I need to start heading out of my comfort routes as just around the corner it turns out we have HILLS and I want more of them!

When I first started my C25K journey I did a route with a hill that one day I ran around at the bottom of until it was time to walk as I found it so hard. My graduation run I planned so that I would run that hill twice and although I found it tough I loved the sense of achievement and more so loved the fact that I could get my breath back so quickly once I got to the top and my legs felt as though they had power in them to go again.
Tonight I realised that although I still have a LONG, LONG way to go I am getting stronger and my lungs are coping so much better with each week I stop smoking
Yes I think if I had a knee problem it would be something I would avoid for sure and it isn't something I could do everytime I go out for a run so I am thankful it is pretty flat around here.
Hills do hurt at first, but they really work on making you stronger, faster! I had a big hill in my C25K journey from the start and it was so nice as it got easier and easier as I got fitter and stronger. These days I'm more than happy to tackle any hill, although I do prefer uphill to down, down can still be pretty tough on the knees. 👍🏻😁
