Took me and my lovely new shoes off for a hills session this morning. Got my eye on a good quiet-ish stretch of hill about 1k from home.
Only when I set off did I realise to get there I have to run up two quite sharp hills! Luckily, as per one of my previous posts, I have now 'embraced' those pesky hills , so on I went! I got to my 'chosen training hill' and ran up/walked down 5 times. My was it tough! But I noticed I recovered quicker each repeat! I also concentrated on being upright, small steps and arms to improve style and hopefully pace uphill.
Ran home and ended up running a total of 3k, so 'my' hill must be 100m each way. Does anyone have a view on if that is a long enough hill for regular hill training please? I have loads to choose from so if a longer or shorter one is needed I will be able to find one!
An a further hill note, I walked around my local Parkrun last week. Guess what?..... it starts with a real incline for at least 150 m............who would have guessed? Feels like I live in the Hills Capital! Lol
Anyway I am very pleased with my Sunday hill running session and my new shoes are perfect🏃🏻😃👟👟👟
Happy running all!
