Wow - didn't think that was possible! I went out this morning on my 5th consolidation run since graduating C25k a couple of weeks back. I had a nice long weekend break over bank holiday and I was a bit worried that not running would set me off my groove this week, but the opposite has happened! I think a break has done me the world of good both physically and mentally. This mornings run started out like any other, and I'm usually running between 3.5-4k in 30 mins. Today I decided to try a different route, and whilst running realised that if I kept going, I could "join the loop" on my run so to speak, to do a circuit of my town. As the Strava app said I'd done 4.5k I told myself I can't stop now, and I can't believe it but I ran my first ever 5k today in a (quite slow....) 39 minutes! Feels so great - onwards and upwards. The C25K app is honestly the most brilliant steppingstone and I'm still pinching myself that I can class myself as a "runner" now.
Hope you've all had good running weeks! ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐๐ป๐๐ปโโ๏ธ

Well done.it's a great feeling! Never worry about having a few rest days at this stage (not too many though!). Sometimes it does you good I think and the next run can feel easier. Good luck!
Thanks Roxdog! I was really worried about having a rest as I'd been running religiously every other day, so I left it 5 days in between runs. I definitely feel more "up for it" now!
That moment, when you realise how close to to your first 5k you are, and then magically find that there's enough left in the tank to get on and achieve it, is an unforgettable one.
