A run in the breeze

This morning was my first run for 10 days. Last week I was frightened of getting caught in a thunderstorm β›ˆοΈ and earlier this week I was busy celebrating my 60th birthday πŸ˜±πŸ˜œπŸ€£πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰πŸ₯‚πŸ₯΄. I decided to take it slowly and do my best. It was blowing a gale 🌬️πŸŒͺ️ and within seconds my hat was gone! Why did I think it a good idea to wear a hat?! I managed to grab my hat before it was gone forever and held on to it tightly. I ran at a steady pace along the single track country lane near my house managing not to be squished by two tractors 🚜 🚜 trundling along. I wasn't sure how long I could run for today and after 25 minutes decided that was it. πŸ˜• When I got home and checked my stats I'd run 3.51K at a pace of 7.10/km. My fastest time!!! Happy with that 😊

A belated happy birthday to you NorfolkWifey, I hope you had a great day and that cake was delicious.

Good run and time for you despite the weather being so windy, I am sure that your next run will be quicker and hopefully not run in such windy weather. 😊 πŸƒπŸΎ

Happy 60th! Well done on the run too. I'm 61 next month and hadn't run for 42 years. Even way back then I was a sprinter and loved the buzz from being fast. I have no idea why I decided to do this program and j honestly didn't think I'd get past 5 minutes of running. Good to have you to follow due to our similar age. I'm hoping to do my last run tomorrow. Good luck with yours xx

Hi Lindy! I was inspired to do the C25K by my cousin and a friend that did it last year. I'd been thinking about it for ages then when we went into lockdown I thought now's the perfect time to start. 😊 So, since graduating, I'm trying to continue to run 3 times a week, it doesn't matter if I don't do 30 minutes or reach 5K every time, it's all good exercise and is improving my health and fitness.

Good luck for your final run!

That's exactly what I want to do. Maybe an occasional charity run but I'll aim for 3 runs a week. Would be such a shame to stop now xx
