Week 9 Run 2 - Graduation is in sight!

I decided to do run 2 of week 9 during my lunch break today as it’s due to rain a lot here later this afternoon and I wasn’t in the mood for a rainy run!

I had the usual ‘toxic 10’ and then settled into my pace, it didn’t feel quite as easy as the first run of the week but it was comfortable enough and my breathing was pretty good. When Sarah notified me that I had 60 seconds left I decided to have a quick check of Runkeeper to see how I was doing - to my amazement I was actually pretty close to the 5K mark, so I was naughty and continued on at a steady pace after the 30mins was up until I reached it. Very happy with doing 5K in just over 30mins (please don’t be too mad with me!!) 😁🙈

Back to the standard 30mins for my next run on Saturday though, graduation is in sight! 🏃🏼‍♀️

Yay! Well done you! That's awesome stuff 💪🏻 how much longer did it take you? As long as you were comfortable running for a little longer I wouldn't worry about it, I did the same the first time I got close to 5k 👍🏻

Thanks Jericho, glad to know I’m not the only one!! ☺️ It was an extra two and a bit minutes in total - nothing too crazy/ambitious otherwise I wouldn’t have done it!!

I think that's awesome! It's great to break that 5k barrier too, it feels brilliant to say I can run 5k 😁 especially when 50 metres was pretty bloomin hard not that long ago! Enjoy it and looking forward to you graduation write up! 😁👍🏻💪🏻

Woohoo! Excellent and well done on your 5k run, even if over the 30mins..! You did it without going OTT and that's what counts. Good to prove to yourself you can easily do it and sure that will provide a boost for you as you approach your graduation run.

It is a lovely day for a run here too and I've been wishing I was out for my run today, and not tomorrow when heavy rain is forecast (who have I become that I 'wish' I was out running instead of taking a rest day? lol) I am envious of you getting your Run 2 in! Exciting to be so close to graduation 💪🏻

I’m being sensible and have tried to rest up as much a possible today - I’ll keep accessing it each day before I even attempt my next run. Hopefully not too much longer 👍
