1st Run of Week 1 Completed

I finally got out there and completed my first run. It was okay although I went out in the afternoon when it was hot. I think morning runs might be better for me. Hoping I will be disciplined and consistent.

It’s so much harder going when the weather is hot. You’ll find it better if you go very early or when the heat has gone out of the day. Well done for starting - keep it up.

I think the morning runs will be better for you, congratulations on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1 and welcome to the forum,

Take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, onwards and upwards to run 2 of week 1, good luck for your running journey with C25K.

You've done the hardest bit, starting. Starting the C25K was one of the best decisions I've made. Well done 👍

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

I'm so not a morning person, but this running malarkey has me wanting to get up at 7am so I can get the run in before it gets too warm and before work. Previously during lockdown I'd been treating myself to a lie in until 8.30am before logging on to work at 9am.

That’s fab! I think early morning is what I’m going to plan in. Good start to the day 😊👍🏼
