Week 1 - Run 1 Completed! Hurrah!

Hello!

I am happy to have discovered this forum. Two things encouraged me to embark on this challenge. I follow a youtuber who completed the Couch to 5k, after going through 2 surgeries in 2018. I also had two surgeries and was inspired to try a 5k run.

The second reason is a friend asked me to join him on a 5k run. As I have never run in my life, I thought I should start off quite slowly.

I downloaded the app, chose my coach (Michael Johnson) and went for my first run this morning.

When I got to the third jog, I was knackered and thought, there is no way I can do this, but I slowed down and carried on until the next brisk walk.

The hardest part was actually getting out of bed and out the door. The alarm went off but it took another 45 minutes before I closed the front door behind me. Then it was no problem.

So glad that I did it. Looking forward to Week 1 - Run 2.

(Am I? Hehehe)

Good luck everyone. :)

Welcome... great job. You’re precisely right... getting up and out is the hardest but, until you get into the routine. Enjoy the journey.
