W6R3 yin & yang run

Just got back from W6R3. What a run it was. After R2 I was buzzing and really up for smashing R3 with a good distance. Unfortunately the techgods had other ideas.

Got to the forest this morning fired up, first thing music. My sound app decided to crash so a run without music ,How am I going to do this ! Forget about it and rely on Laura's sweet tones. Nope C25K decided to go on holiday as well and refuse to work ☹ ok Laura's I'll find someone else if you dont want me I'm sure Mapmyrun will have me if you dont 🙄 apparently Mapmy run took me to the USA today about 3000km from where I actually was. I'll never do 3000km in 25 minutes. Then my phone decided to freeze and leave me stranded.

So anyway refused to be beaten i done a run anyway despite not being in the right mindset. Tbh i have no idea how far I ran or even how long for but I done something despite sulking for the first 10 minutes of it 😄 but after the first 10minutes I felt really comfortable and found my stride its just a shame I have no idea how far or how long although would guess about 2.5-3 km 🙂

Oh dear technology eh...Great when it works..

I've been there and feel your pain..

Great will power not to give in and return home sulking though so should give yourself a pat on the back for that.

Hope the tech fairies work there magic and defeat the gremlins for your nxt run

I have a Priest coming around later to perform an exorcism on my phone, hoping that works 😄

So frustrating when the tech goes glitchy! Hope the computer gods smile on your next run and you get your 25 min distance.

The usual fix for things going mad like that on a phone is to switch it off completely then switch it on again. They're temperamental things at the best of times. Sometimes a good reboot up the backside is what they need. 🤪

Love your determination to crack on regardless! Great job! 👍🏻🙂

Oh dear! Tech is great when it's working fine, but when it fails it can do it spectacularly and can be frustrating (especially garmin this week!).

I had an amusing tech fail on two runs during consolidation when I was using the free Strava app on my phone to track my runs. I run on trails through woodland and the gps can be a bit patchy. It amused me at the end of one run to see that Strava had given me stats an Olympic athlete would have been proud of. When it did it again on the next run it was also funny, but it helped meto make my mind up to buy a runner's watch as a post-graduation treat.

So well done to you for not giving in to your tech-fail experience. Fingers crossed that everything behaves itself for your next run. 😊

In some ways it's a shame, but really it's fabulous because you ran unaided and just for the pleasure of it. So feel smug about it runner
