Hi I’m new I’m glad to have found this group.

I repeated w1 as I found it hard , w2 now and finding it really hard , couldn’t run for the full time on each run , ran again today and slowed my pace and was able to complete every run

Welcome to the forum and well done your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Slow is what gets me through and feeling good. Finished week 2 run 3 yesterday. I've even been drinking less alcohol as I am finding myself conscious about my body being able to repair itself for the next run. It's weird!

Well done on doing it! Like you I'm finding this hard and have had to repeat runs as well.

Advice that this lovely group gave me was slow slow slow. I've started to use Mapmyrun and that's helped me slow down but also motivate me 🤷‍♀️. I chose slower music and try(but often fail) to really plan routes.

You can do it. And on the days that maybe you don't quite make it, you will next time and for me the main thing is you got out and did some exercise. Every day is a learning day and the times I've not made it to the end,I have learnt something and improved next time.

But keep riding on completing your run yesterday.

Just completed run 2 week 3 and so far so good! I’ve never run before and am now increasing my stamina, never thought I’d get this far but loving it! Keep up the good work

You've already found your answer - slow down and you'll be just fine. It's not meant to be easy but it is meant to be possible, I would hazard a guess that many, if not most, of us starting out thinking we wouldn't be able to do it - and we're all still here!

Good luck, slow down and have fun!

I’m on wk7, run no 2 this morning. All I can say is persevere. Your hard work and determination will pay off.

I have found all weeks hard. I was a sprinter at school, therefore have never had the stamina for lengthy runs, but am beginning to find it a little easier. You’ll get there. Good luck!
